Updates…

25/09/2011

Two of my applications have been updated, and I’ll start with the one that has had more changes.

So first off we have Clipboard Contents, updated to 2.1.4, with the following changes:

  • Added ‘Show all actions’ option for item click
  • Fixed bug on fallback action activation
  • Other small maintenance updates

Second is the more popular Font Changer, bumped to version 2.1.1, with a few small bug fixes. Nothing noticeable to the end user, but more features will be coming soon (hopefully!).

You can get both of them on XDA from the appropriate threads, or on the Android Market.

Font Changer 2.0.0 Update

10/06/2011

Version 2.0.0 is out. And yeah, the big jump in the versioning does mean more features than just bug fixes :) The changelog is as follows:

  • Added advanced mode with font picker for individual fonts
  • Fixed rename bug
  • Fixed bold font previews
  • Fixed changing font location bug
  • Added Bulgarian translation (Никола Андреев)
  • Added Spanish translation (Dani)
  • Lots of other updates and fixes (code was refactored)
  • note: translations will be updated in the next few weeks (translators please wait for my email)
  • note: refresh if your fonts will be missing after the update

In addition to the above changes I pretty much rewrote the application. You probably won’t see many changes, but it should be quicker and safer now. I tested it for the past two days, but that does not that mean that it is bug free (as with all big releases).

Grab it on the Market or in the OP of the XDA thread. Enjoy :)

Font Changer 1.8 Update

27/02/2011

I don’t usually post here, only if there are some more significant changes. And today is one of those days.

First of all I’m sure that people must have been getting tired of the checks being done before you can actually set a font. Well, with today’s update that’s history! They will be done in the background, so by the time you find a font that you’d like to apply you will be (hopefully) green to go without having to wait at the beginning.

Secondly, it is now possible to specify where you would like to store your fonts. The option is found in the settings and if you have any fonts in the folder already it will just simply move them. Quick and easy!

Next milestone is to have an advanced mode which allows to change fonts like TypeFresh does it. This will allow more advanced users to be more specific in their font choices, while still having the ability to just tap a font family and apply it. This will be either for a 1.9 or 2.0 release. Apart from that I’ll just be concentrating on making code optimisations, further robustness, and minor additions.

Furthermore I would like to thank the guys at DroidDog for reviewing Font Changer. You can find the review here. Cheers again.

Updates too frequent?

02/02/2011

Recently I got a comment on the Market saying that the frequent updates are annoying. Is this what most of you people think? Would you be happier if I let updates accumulate and updated only from time to time? Comment as well if you have anything to add. Thank you.

Font Changer 1.7.4 Update

21/01/2011

I have copied all the extra features from the paid version to the lite one, so they are equal now. Apart from the fact that I added ads into the free now. I hope this move will be at least somewhat understood.

Plus I changed the layout for the density changer and a couple of fixes. The new layout probably isn’t more convenient, however it definitely is cleaner than the one before.

Thank you all for the support (4pda.ru excluded to some extent).

@4pda.ru

15/01/2011

I have recently noticed that some Russian folk have been publishing paid versions of Font Changer on the Russian forums 4pda.ru and have been getting credit for it. Could you please stop doing it. The paid version exists there to support development. If you don’t want to do that, get the free version and don’t kill off development by pirating. It’s really off-putting for me when I see people doing this, and makes me feel less and less motivated to keep improving Font Changer and adding new features to it.

So, please stop. If you want to support me, pay for it. If you don’t, get the free one.

End of transmission.

Font Changer 1.7.1.5 Update

20/12/2010

The following fixes have been made:

  • busybox and system write access detection, which caused people to get a message about not having system write access when instead they had busybox missing
  • boot loops on MIUI when setting a font which has the bold counterpart missing. MIUI doesn’t like setting a regular font as bold, so this has just been disabled and the default font will be set instead
